We are a humble local business that creates traditional Korean rice cakes with a modern twist in the form of fun colours and special designs. For the uninitiated, you may relate songpyeon to “Korean mochi”. Made with non-glutinous rice flour, it has a chewy and sticky texture and is a must eat delicacy during Chuseok - which is Korea’s mid autumn festival. Traditionally, songpyeon is shaped into small cresents, stuffed with sweet fillings. Why is it a cresent you may ask? Korean ancestors believe round-shaped full moon could only wane while a half-moon would fill up with abundance and prosperity. We also top our songpyeon with mini flower cutouts for extra cuteness. We also experimented with flower petals and mini florets. The flower petals are plain and come with a honey stick for drizzling, while the florets are made “open-faced” with red bean paste. We also have our round songpyeon designs with various embossed or imprinted floral designs. Pick from peanut sesame, chocolate, red bean or black sesame fillings.
